The company name project 8 consulting is based on the name of the British motorsport racing team Project Four Racing. The team was founded by Ron Dennis, who merged Project Four Racing with the McLaren Formula 1 team in the autumn of 1980. A true leader, he made McLaren Racing one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history with 8 constructor and 12 driver world championships. The name Project Four was to remain with McLaren until 2016.
